This graphic is from the Energy Advice booklet which has been put together by the project team; comparing prices of various sources of fuel. It is interesting to note the range of prices paid for wood, making it potentially both the cheapest and the most expensive form of heating. Where as fuels like oil adn gas come with a known and uniform energy content, wood is most often than not sold at an unknown weight and moisture level, meaning the energy value content is also unknown.Another key consideration with burning wood is the efficiency of the appliance it is being burned in and there are many new appliances and systems for heating your house from wood now than ever before.
There will energy advisors on hand at Ysgol Llanrhaeadr, on Thursday evem 7-9 where you can find out much more.

Can you publish the purchase price per ton/litre/kwh etc plus the efficiency factor assumed to get these values /kwh. That would enable people to work out how realistic this price comparison is.
Thank you,
Tom
